Build AI Agents With Agent Studio, Now Generally Available

Agent Studio is now generally available, providing a managed platform for building, deploying, and operating AI agents grounded in Algolia data. Customers can configure model providers, connect search and recommendation tools, add safety controls, and monitor conversations through a single API and dashboard. This reduces the complexity of building production-ready AI experiences while providing a consistent, scalable foundation for agent development. Click here to learn more.

Connect AI Agents to External Tools With MCP Servers

Agent Studio now generally supports Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, allowing AI agents to securely connect to external tools and services through a standardized interface. Customers can extend agent capabilities with approved third-party tools while controlling which tools are available and requiring human approval for sensitive actions. This makes it easier to integrate existing systems into AI workflows without building custom integrations. Click here to learn more.

Conditionless Rules Can Now Be Created From the Visual Editor

Merchandisers can now create conditionless rules - rules that ‘always apply’ i.e. without a trigger - directly in the Visual Editor. Previously these rules could only be created from the Manual Editor, putting them out of reach for business users. A new Actions menu also lets you create rules unassociated with the current page or query, in the Visual Merchandiser.

DocSearch Hub Centralizes DocSearch Management in the Dashboard

DocSearch now has a dedicated DocSearch Hub in the dashboard, bringing DocSearch resources together in one place. Access the Crawler, Ask AI in Agent Studio, indices, API keys, and UI implementation guidance from a single location. This update reduces navigation across multiple dashboard sections and makes it easier to manage and implement DocSearch.

Customise Grid Layout so That Your Preview Matches Your Storefront or Site

The Visual Editor now supports custom grid layout configurations, letting merchandisers preview results in the same tile pattern used on their storefront. Configure your preferred layout once at the index level patterns like 3-4-3 and see exactly how your products will appear. Reduces guesswork and eliminates the need to validate changes on a separate staging environment.

Optimise Filtering Experiences With Dynamic Facets

Dynamic Facets automatically reorders facets based on how shoppers apply filters, helping surface the most relevant filtering options for each query or browsing context. Rankings are updated daily using filter usage data and returned directly in search responses without additional queries. This helps reduce the effort required to find relevant filters, improves filter engagement, and minimises ongoing manual facet merchandising. Click here to learn more.

Adobe Commerce: Query Suggestions and a New Server-Side Search Adapter

This Magento extension update introduces support for Algolia Query Suggestions, including a new configuration option in the Autocomplete menu that lets customers switch between Magento Search Queries and Algolia Query Suggestions. The release also introduces the Algolia Adapter module for server-side rendering of category and search pages, adds a configurable replica limit, and improves paging behavior by respecting Magento grid and list view settings. Breaking change: backend rendering management has been removed from the extension. Customers using server-side rendering must install the Algolia Adapter module to maintain this functionality. Algolia CLI Adds AI Agent Support and Safer Automation Workflows

Algolia CLI v1.8.1 introduces updates that improve automation, security, and AI agent interoperability from the terminal. New capabilities include schema introspection with algolia describe, structured JSON and NDJSON output, expanded dry-run validation for mutation commands, OAuth PKCE authentication with scoped user permissions, and input validation for malformed control characters. The release also adds crawler authentication through the dashboard with algolia auth crawler and a new compositions command group for managing compositions and composition rules directly from the CLI. These updates help developers and AI agents interact with Algolia more safely, predictably, and efficiently in automated workflows. Click here to learn more.

Search Results That Adapt to What Users Actually Want

NeuralSearch now learns query intent directly from customer engagement data. Rather than relying solely on semantic interpretation, search queries are matched against patterns derived from real clicks and conversions - so brand names, niche terminology, and ambiguous queries return results grounded in what your customers actually engage with. Coverage improves automatically over time as engagement data accumulates, with standard semantic search as a seamless fallback for queries not yet learned. Click here to learn more.

Simplify Sorting With Native Virtual Replica Support

Virtual replicas are now supported directly in the Shopify integration sort configuration UI. Merchants can select attributes and choose between standard and virtual replicas without manual setup. This eliminates the need for custom JavaScript, duplicate indices, and complex workflows previously required to manage sorting. The update reduces application size, simplifies configuration within Shopify, and removes a key blocker for teams managing large catalogs or storage limits. Click here to learn more.
