Understanding your analytics is key to improving search performance, but finding issues or opportunities can take time.

AI Assist can now answer questions about your search analytics within the Algolia dashboard. Looking for a general overview? Ask Assist to summarize your search performance, highlight recent trends, or identify opportunities for improvement. Or, if you want to drill down into a specific question, ask about individual metrics or compare performance across indices or time periods.

To get started, open Assist and click “Analyze my search performance”, or ask your analytics question in natural language.

If you need to work with your data outside the dashboard, Assist can also generate downloadable CSVs containing the analytics you've requested, making it easy to continue your analysis offline.

DocSearch MCP is now available in public beta, enabling MCP-compatible AI coding assistants to search current public developer documentation and answer with cited sources. No signup, API key, or authentication is required to use the hosted endpoint. Strong search starts with the right relevance settings, but it's easy for search configuration to move away from best practices over time.

You can now optimise key search settings with AI Assist, in line with your search goals and Algolia’s best practice. To start, ask AI Assist to “improve my search configuration” and select an existing index. Assist will ask a couple of questions on your industry and search goals, which will tailor its recommendations for the following core search settings: Searchable attributes, Custom ranking, Ranking and Sorting, and Typo Tolerance.

Using Algolia’s best practices, your current index configuration and information on your search goals, Assist will analyse your settings to suggest changes. For any of Assist’s suggestions, you’ll see a clear explanation and details of how your settings will change. Users with the Set-Up Search permission can click to apply all or some of Assist’s changes.

If your index is included in any active A/B tests, you can automatically propagate the same optimisations to other indices. These changes can also be shared with replicas from within Assist. All of Assist’s changes will be tracked in the audit log for your visibility.

AI Assist now understands your configuration and uses this to provide advice that's tailored and relevant. A question like “Why do I have a high no-results rate?” will be met with targeted guidance on how to change your current set-up. Assist will also provide links to navigate you to relevant parts of the Algolia platform. This allows you to quickly find the relevant solution needed to take action on an Assist conversation. Assist is aware of your application’s current subscription tier and Algolia release version, and will only direct you to features you can access.

The Algolia Productivity MCP now supports Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, and Codex. Developers can connect to Algolia (via Dashboard OAuth) directly from their preferred Al coding environment and query Algolia without switching context. Each AI assistant is recognised by the MCP and matched against a redirect URI, without needing to enter a Client ID. Click here to learn more.

Agent Studio now includes a dedicated search settings panel, letting teams configure search parameters specifically for their agents - separate from existing index settings. Defaults (hits per page, controlled attributes, facets) are set based on evaluation findings and applied automatically when connecting a new index. All settings are fully customizable.

Agent Studio's search tool has been upgraded with improved relevance, faster response times, and reduced cost per query. Agents now benefit from more accurate, context-aware results across a wider range of query types. AI-generated tool descriptions also help agents select and invoke the right search tool at the right time, improving overall agent reasoning quality.

A new Guardrails configuration in the Safety Controls tab allows defining custom categories to filter harmful or off-topic content across input, output, or both. Each category includes a description, examples, and an optional fallback response, helping teams control how agents handle sensitive or irrelevant queries. The Agent Studio widget search bar now features an AI mode button and context-aware prompt suggestions. As shoppers type, relevant suggested prompts appear that transition them directly into the chat experience with a single click. The AI mode button provides a persistent, prominent entry point from search to natural language conversation, reducing friction for users moving between search and chat.

Agent Studio now includes a dedicated Getting Started page and Quick Setup flow for agents. A guided configuration wizard covers data source selection, prompt configuration, entry points, prompt suggestions, conversation features, and safety controls in a single flow. Pre-configured agent templates are available to reduce setup time and accelerate time to first deployment.
